
Gregory E. Manchuck, 66, of Columbia, died on Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010, at Hartford Hospital.
Born in Manchester, he was the son of the late Alexander and Anne (Foley) Manchuck. Greg received his masters in education from the University of Connecticut and had taught science at the Vernon Center Middle School for most of his career. He served in the Air Force Reserves as a medic at Westover Air Force Base. An avid sportsman and fan he enjoyed all UConn sports, rooting for the New York Yankees, participating in the Thanksgiving Day Road Race, and fishing.
He is survived by his daughters, Melissa A. Manchuck of Tolland and Heidi M. Stacer, and her husband, Christopher, of Coventry. He also was predeceased by his brother, Daniel A. Manchuck.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, Feb. 18, at 10:30 a.m. from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W. Center St., Manchester, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. James Church, 896 Main St., Manchester, with burial in St. James Cemetery.
Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
