Fred lettered as an all-star diver on the MHS swimming team. At our 2011 reunion we reminisced about his feats as a varsity diver, well before the vault was a popular event in the Olympics. He nodded and said those days were far behind him but the memories were clear, 50 years after graduation.

The MHS 1961 class will miss one of our truly free spirits and friend to all of us.
I remember playing in the brooks behind his home when we were kids on the East Side
and think of him often as someone that everyone liked because he always made you
smile when he was with you.
My condolences to Fred's family and the many classmate friends that will also miss
him, as do I.

I'm sorry to hear about Fred. He was one of the people who made the swimming team a lot more fn.He had to dive before- orafter the rest of ud swam our laps and wind sprints and he brought a cheerful spritit to the team.

Fred, who was CoCaptan of the swim team, was admired by me for his agility in diving, but also on the Track team. He was fun to be around which made practice more bearable.
Thank you Fred!
