
ANDERSON, Karen M. Karen M. Anderson, 67, of East Hartford, formerly of Manchester and Middletown peacefully passed away Tuesday (March 15, 2011), after a brief illness at Aurora Senior Living Center in East Hartford where she had resided for the past five years. Karen was born in Providence, RI on March 22, 1943 daughter of Barbara (Grogan) Anderson of Manchester and the late Leonard E. Anderson. She had resided for much of her life in Manchester and Middletown. Karen attended public schools in Warwick, RI and Manchester, graduating from Manchester High School in 1961. She was a past employee of Manchester Manor where she assisted in caring for the residents for many years. Karen was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Manchester where she participated in the choir in previous years. In addition to her mother Barbara, Karen is survived by her sisters, Janet Platz of Coventry and Linda Johnson of Arizona, her brother, David Anderson of Manchester, her niece, Alaina Platz of East Hampton, her five nephews, Ethan Platz of Boston, MA, David and Will Anderson both of Austin, TX, John Anderson of Dallas, TX and Tyler Anderson of Steamboat Springs, CO and her many good friends at Aurora Living Center. A memorial service will be celebrated on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Mary's Episcopal Church 41 Park St. Manchester. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be Saturday, March 19th from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Book of Remembrance or to the Genesis Center, 587 East Middle Turnpike, Manchester, CT 06040.
