Dave White

My memories of Dave White started in Manchester's Little League in the early 1950's. Dave was the dominant force during those years, seemingly a man among boys, a catcher that already seemed to be playing like a seasoned pro.

Further on, throughout Manchester's 1950s, early 1960s athletic scene, either playing with him or against him, David was a friend, a well liked, humble competitor, classmate and ultimate teamate. Whatever sport it was, either baseball or basketball or softball in the 1970s, Dave was a leader and helped us win. Baseball wouldn't have been the same whether it was the Manchester High School teams or American Legion teams without him. (I've attached one of my favorite photos of our American Legion baseball team from those years)

There weren't many athletes during that time that we enjoyed playing with or against because we knew we'd see someone with exceptional talent.

My condolences to Dave's family. Also, my condolences to his many Manchester teamates and MHS classmates that will feel his loss and thank him for the many memories he gave us!

I feel fortunate to have called Dave a friend.

RIP Dave White !!

I always thought of Dave as one of the good guys, a hero.  And not just on the ball field.  He was respectful to everyone, would do anything for anyone.  And on top of all, he took great pleasure in life, in using his many skills, in nurturing his many friendships, in taking care of his family.  More than the mail, Dave White delivered.

I echo Dave Sibribinsz' comments.  From Little League to post high school softball, Dave was a dominate player.  His skills in baseball and softball were unmatched.  As a team mate or as an opposing player, you respect Dave not only foe the great athlete he was, but for being a team mate with a great copetitive spirit.  He set a good example for others.  My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Whitey was the first kid I met in1954 with Steve McAdam. The three of us shared a special bond from that day and now we have lost them both. Playing sports with Whitey over too many years to count was a privilege.  He was the  ultimate teammate and friend. Dave White will be missed. He truly was a Hall of Famer both in sports and life. Good bye Whitey❤️❤️🙏🙏
