Kenneth Tedford

Kenneth Tedford

Kenneth N. Tedford (79) passed away unexpectedly on December 2, with his family at his side. He was born June 26, 1943 to Harold and Doris (Dowding) Tedford. Ken lived most of his life in Manchester, CT and graduated from Manchester High School in 1961. He attended Upper Iowa University and The University of Connecticut School of Law. He retired from the state as an Assistant Attorney General, specializing in environmental and transportation law. He served on the Manchester town board of directors for 7 years. Ken was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was an avid outdoorsman, skier, golfer, and fly fisherman. He was past president of the Manchester Ski Club and a longtime National Ski Patroller at Okemo Mountain in Vermont. He was a member of Trout Unlimited and taught many willing students the art of fly casting and fly tying. You could always find him on the river helping to spot fish or giving away one of the thousands of flies he had tied. He could keep old friends and new entertained for hours with the tales of his adventures over the years. He is survived by his wife Donna, his son Kevin, daughter-in-law Keri, and grandson Sully. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Manchester Land Trust, 20 Hartford Rd., Manchester, or the Manchester Historical Society, 175 Pine St., Manchester. Friends and relatives are invited to join the family for visitation on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2022 at Manchester Funeral Home, 142 East Center Street from 9:00-10:30 AM, with services and burial to follow. So sorry to hear of Kenny's passing.  I've known Kenny since we were teammates on the Police & Fire basketball team in the Midget Basketball League at the Westside Rec as 8 year olds. I still have a picture from an old scrapbook with him and a number of others on that team!

Always had a smile on his face and whenever I saw him we'd laugh about our misadventures on the basketball court back in the day.

My condolences to Kenny's family and many MHS 61 classmates and friends.

I didn't get to meet anyone from Manchester until my freshman year at MHS and am sorry to say I don't remember Kenneth ... I can tell he was well liked though, by others' comments... and I know he will be dearly missed ...

Every time I see another of my High School classmates listed in this memory section I am reminded that none of us knows what tomorrow may bring.... and it makes those days when my clueless, shy teenager self... an import from Bolton... come rushing back with all the heady excitement of being in such a 'big school' with so many others of my own age ...and I remember... and miss that innocent time..

I wish I had known you Kenneth.. my heart goes out to those who love you and will miss you ... I'm sure there are many.

I was so surprised at the passing of Ken Tedford  He was a high school and college friend.  We went to Upper Iowa University and continued our friendship over the years.  My wife and I have fond memories of Ken and his wife Donna.  I'm glad that we were able to visit with the Tedfords at the 50th reumion.     Mike and Joan
