Linda S. Heronemus, 64, of 6 Miss Vans Court, Waterford, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2008, at her home.

Linda was born on June 11, 1943, in Gloversvillle, N.Y., the daughter of Harold and Ethel Ruth (Haban) Smith.

She had been married in East Hartford on July 26, 1997, to Richard W. Heronemus.

Following high school, Linda graduated from the Hartford Airline School and for the past several years was the co-owner of ServiceMaster in Waterford.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who, aside from doting on her family, enjoyed knitting.

Besides her husband, Linda is survived by a daughter, Traci Meredith of Niantic; two sons, Mark A. Strasser and his wife, Sue, of Rutland, Mass., and Michael J. Strasser of Niantic; three step-daughters, Jennifer Dixon of Indianapolis, Ind., Ruth Heronemus of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Mary Heronemus of Lebanon, Tenn.; a sister, Judy Aceto of Manchester; a brother, Randy Smith of Arlington, Tex.; and eight grandchildren, Zachary, Jacob, Olivia, Jared, Ellie, Ashley, Mariah, and Michael.

A celebration of Linda's life will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 21, at Byles Memorial Home, 99 Huntington St., New London.
