Pamela Riddell

Pamela Riddell

Pamela “Pam” Riddell, 62, died suddenly and unexpectedly on Friday, July 21, 2006.

A lifelong resident of Manchester, she graduated from Saint James School and Manchester High School. Pam was employed by Travelers Insurance Company for over 30 years in a variety of positions, retiring as a supervisor in the tax unit. She was a parishioner at the Church of the Assumption and a devoted volunteer at the Assumption School. “Miss Pam” loved and cheered generations of students with her warm heart and funny expressions. She also served on the school’s board of directors and the church’s financial committee. A simple, generous soul, Pam always kept her door open to friends who needed a hot meal, a glass of wine, or just a funny story. In recent years her big yellow truck served grandly for many a person’s errands. Pam was a fanatical Red Sox fan and a staunch supporter of the UConn women’s basketball team. She loved to shop and never missed a sale at Coldwater Creek.

Pam is predeceased by her beloved parents, Grace and Thomas Riddell, and her much missed big brother, Thomas Riddell. She is survived by cousin, Bob Lynch and his wife, Rose, of Florida; as well as many second cousins. She leaves behind her dear friend, Karen Lavoie; and her cherished dogs, Penni and Hancho. While Pam’s biological family was small, her extended family of friends was great. She had circles of friends from all walks of life, all of whom will miss her deeply.

Many thanks to the Manchester Fire Department and Emergency Response.
