Jane Meacham (Tilden)

Jane (Meacham) Tilden, 60, of Manchester, beloved wife of Raymond C. Tilden Sr., passed away peacefully Friday, May 30, 2003, at home surrounded by her loving family after a long and  courageous battle with cancer.

She was born May 18, 1943  in Hartford, daughter of Kathryn (Bedford) Meacham of Manchester and the late James D. Meacham Sr., and had resided in Manchester all of her life. Jane was employed with the Department of Correction for the state of Connecticut for over 14 years until retiring in April 2003. She was a communicant of St. James Church in Manchester.

Besides her husband and mother, she is survived by her children, Raymond C. Tilden Jr. and his wife, Christine, of Greenland, N.H., Lisa Pollock and her hus­band, George, of Sandy Hook, and Jane Germond and her husband, Paul, of Manchester, a brother, James D. Meacham Jr. and his wife, Judi, of Manchester; two sis­ters, Mary Meacham Johnson and her fiance, David Martial, of Columbia, and Margaret Olbrias and her husband, Richard, of Lisbon; her five grandchildren, Raymond C. Tilden III, Jennifer Tilden, Sara Pollock, Zachary Pollockand Kathryn Germond. She is also survived by aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and their families and a dear friend, Ellen Weber. Jane was predeceased by her brother, Gary B. Meacham Sr.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 3, 2003, at 9 a.m. at Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St., Manchester, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. James Church, 896 Main St., Manchester. Burial will follow in East Cemetery, Manchester.

Calling hours will be today, June 2, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
