Marie Leila J. (Lussier) DiMauro, 79, loving wife of Louis DiMauro, for over 57 years, of East Hartford, passed away after a long and courageous battle with dementia, on Thursday, August 12, 2021. Leila was born in Syracuse, N.Y. and was daughter to the late J. Arthur and Eva (Chevalier) Lussier. Leila was a resident of East Hartford for over 57 years. She graduated from St. Ann School, Hartford, class of '56 and Manchester High School, class of '61. She retired from Bank of America, where she worked for over 25 years. She was also a member and past president of the East Hartford Women's Club and donated much of her time at the Manchester Hospital Coffee Shop and to the Protectors of Animals, animal shelter in East Hartford. Leila will also be remembered for her love of holidays and doing crafts. She looked forward to decorating the house and wearing her holiday outfits, especially during the Christmas season, where she hosted many 'Santa' parties. She also loved and enjoyed spending time with family and friends at the beach house in Clinton, CT. Leila is also survived and will be dearly missed by her three children; Cheryl DiMauro, Kim DiMauro and Mark DiMauro and his wife Kristin and her two precious grandchildren who she loved dearly, Ana Cortese and Mark DiMauro Jr. She also leaves behind her brother, Michael Lussier and his wife, Linda, a brother-in-law, Sal DiMauro and his wife, Lucy, brother-in-law, Paul DiMauro and his wife Jane, many nieces and nephews and her beloved golden retriever, Buddy. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends, especially her best friend of over 70 years, Louise Conran. The DiMauro family would also like to thank the staff at Salmon Brook Nursing Home for their compassionate care. Family and friends are invited to a Graveside Service, Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at 11:00am at Hillside Cemetery, 60 Hillside St., East Hartford, CT. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org) Leila's funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the D'Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel.
