John Lee

 John R. “Jack” Lee, 62, of Coventry, beloved husband for 43 years of Diane (Roberts) Lee, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2006, at Manchester. Memorial Hospital with his family and friends at his side.

John was born in Manchester May 23, 1943, attended local schools, graduated from

Manchester High School, and had been a resident of Coventry since 1967. He was employed for 33 years by United Parcel Service and retired in 1999. He was a proud member of the Teamsters ‘Union. John had a love of the great outdoors and enjoyed hunt­ing, fishing, and golfing with his son and son-in-law as well as his many friends. All of his neighbors can attest he enjoyed working on his lawn, which gave him the opportunity to visit with each of them when they would stop to see him when they would either walk or drive by. He was always will­ing to drop whatever he was doing to help his wonderful neighbors.

A loving husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother, John is survived by his wife, Diane; his son, Michael Lee of Ashford; his daughter, Suzanne Taylor and her husband, Michael, of Vernon. He also leaves two grandsons who were the pride and joy of his life, Jack and Ben Taylor. He also leaves his mother and step-father, Helen (Brogan) and Tom Quinn of Manchester; two sisters, Cheryl Mikullitz of South Windsor, and her two sons, Tim and David Milullitz; and Sandra Rice and her husband, James, of South Windsor. Last, but not least, he leaves his beloved cats, Taz, Abbee and Olivia.

Calling hours will be held Monday, April 17, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Watkins Funeral Home, 142 East Center Street, Manchester.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 18, at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
