David Haddock

 David T. Haddock, 57, of Bolton and formerly of Manchester, cherished husband of Joanne E. (Goodwin) Haddock, died, Sunday, (November 5, 2000) at Manchester Memorial Hospi­tal, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born June 4, 1943 in Manchester, and had lived most of his life in Manchester, before moving to Bolton in 1985. Prior to his retirement in July of this year, he began his 39 years career with Pratt & Whitney Air­craft as an apprentice tool and die maker in 1961 and continued to suc­cess as the father of the ACE Program (Achieving Competitive Excellence) at the time of his retirement. David was known by friends, coworkers and family alike for his love, enthusiasm, courage, kindness, dedication and tireless care. Many can attest that he was never too busy to lend a listening ear or timely advice. As a: part-time student, David earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Eastern Connecticut State University. Besides his wife, he is survived by his parents, Alton and Inez (Fowler) Haddock of Manchester, his daughter, Cherie Haddock of Bristol; three sons and daughters-in-law, Ste­phen and Catherine Haddock of Manchester, Timothy and Tracey Haddock also of Manchester, Mark and Lucinda Haddock of Port St. Lucie, FL; two brothers, Thomas Haddock and his wife, Eileen of Manchester, John Had­dock of East Hartford; his sister, Ann Esten and her husband, Richard of Deer Isle, ME; six grandchildren, Chris­tina, Jeremy, Rebecca, Samuel, Samara and Braden; several nieces and nephews and numerous friends. The family would like to express their gratitude for the loving care provided by the nursing staff at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 9, 11 a.m., at the Watkins Funereal Home, 142 East Center St., Manchester. Buri­al will follow in the East Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday  9 a.m., until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the John DeQuattro Commu­nity Cancer Center, 91 Haynes St., Manchester, CT 06040. Mr, Haddock’s funeral is being held in conjunction with the funeral of his mother-in-law, Mary Goodwin, who’s obituary ap­peared in Mondays newspaper.
