Carol Guzavitch (Bowes)

Carol (Guzavitch) Bowes; 56, of Manchester, wife of John R. Bowes, died Saturday, (July 22, 2000) at the UConn Medical Center in Farmington. She was born November 17, 1943 in Hartford, daughter of the late Frank and Sylvia Guzavitch and had been a resident of Manchesterfor most of her life. Mrs. Bowes was a member of St. Bridget Church in Manchester, she was a 4H Leader and had been an active supporter of the Manchester Little League and the American Legion Post #102 Baseball Team.  Mrs, Bowes had also been a teacher at St. Bridget School in Manchester and had taught in the East Hartford and Hartford school systems. Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Sandra J. Bowes and her fiance, Thomas M. Jarry of Manchester; her son and daughter-in-law, John F. and Jessica Bowes, II, of Hebron; two grandsons, Jonathon M. Jarry and Matthew Jarry; sister-in-law, Theresa Nielsen and her husband, Lawrence of Riverside, CA; six nieces and nephews, Laura Harvey, Linda Bell, Lawrence Nielsen, Jr., Peter Nielsen, Heidi Godfrey and Andrew Nielsen. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 8:15 a.m. at the Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St., Manches­ter, followed by a Mass of Christian Bu­rial at 9 a.m. at St. Bridget Church, 80 Main St., Manchester. Burial will be in the St. James Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday, 7-9 p.m., at the funer­al home.
