Ronald Allen

Ronald E. Allen, 46, of 51 Deborah Drive, East Hartford, husband of Nancy (McCollum) Al­len, died Wednesday (Jan. 10, 1990), at home after a long illness. He was born in Manchester, Aug. 24, 1943, and has been an East Hartford resident since 1969. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serv­ing with the U.S. Army, and was employed at the Aetna Life and Casualty Co., Windsoroffice, having been with the company for 20 years. He was a member of the First Congregational Church of East Hartford, and the Army & Navy Club of Manchester. Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Jeffrey S. Allen; a daughter, Jen­nifer M. Allen, both at home; his parents, Crawford and Cora (Hilt) Allen of Manchester; two broth­ers, Crawford Allen, Jr. of East Hampton, and Paul Allen of Man­chester; several nieces; and nephews.

Funeral service will be Friday, 10:30 a.m., at the Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St.,  Manchester. Burial will be in Hillside CemeteryEast Hartford. Calling hours will be today, 2-4 p.m., 9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 67D Prospect Ave., East Hartford 06105, or the Scholarship Fund of the First Congregational Churchof East Hartford837 Main St., East Hartford 06108.

Lois Caddy (Lawrence)

He was a great guy , I remember him on the swimming team also I remember him coming over to my house in Bolton with Bruce Winot and going swimming.He had a great smile and personality. Those were the days when we were young and carefree. His folks and mine, were friends from Maine.

Ronald Cowles

He was a good guy. I remember being in gym class with him. Coach Sollanek, the swimming coach. He was a good guy. R Cowles
